Dutch International Joins Premier League Club

16.3m Signing from Anderlecht

Brighton Hove Albion have completed the signing of Bart Verbruggen from Belgian club Anderlecht for a fee of 16.3 million euros. The 20-year-old Dutch goalkeeper has signed a five-year contract with the Premier League club.

Verbruggen is a highly-rated prospect and has been capped at youth level for the Netherlands. He made his professional debut for Anderlecht in 2020 and has since gone on to make over 50 appearances for the club.

The goalkeeper is expected to provide competition for Robert Sanchez and Jason Steele at Brighton. He will wear the number 13 shirt.

Brighton manager Graham Potter said: "We are delighted to have signed Bart. He is a young goalkeeper with great potential and we believe he can be a valuable addition to our squad."

Verbruggen said: "I am very happy to join Brighton. It is a great club with a good reputation and I am looking forward to playing in the Premier League."
