Champions League: Leverkusen beat Roma to put one foot in final
Bayer Leverkusen have one foot in the Europa League final after beating Roma 3-2 in the first leg of their semi-final on Thursday
Leverkusen took the lead through Moussa Diaby in the 11th minute, but Roma hit back with two goals from Lorenzo Pellegrini and Nicolo Zaniolo. However, Leverkusen equalised through Robert Andrich in the 86th minute before Amine Adli netted a dramatic winner in the 90th minute.
The win gives Leverkusen a slender advantage heading into the second leg in Rome next Thursday, but it will be a tough task to hold on to their lead against a Roma side who have a good record at home in Europe
Roma have won their last three home games in the Europa League, scoring 10 goals and conceding none. However, Leverkusen will be confident of getting a result in Rome, as they have won their last two away games in the competition.
